Mardi Gras 2017, also known as Fat Tuesday is a time of huge parades and celebrations around the world, with street parties and festivities bringing crowds of millions out onto the streets worldwide.

Fat Tuesday in 2017 falls on the 28th February, although many of these venues also feature parades and events in the days leading up to the main parade day. In New Orleans this translates to a whole carnival season that lasts for weeks, before culminating in the main parade. Canal Street is the main focus of the parade itself, but for most people the main party takes place on Bourbon Street in the famous French Quarter, or Vieux Carre.

A great gathering place for New Orleans to celebrate the holiday. This is a great view for watching Mardi Gras parades as they pass around Lee Circle on Saint Charles Avenue and head towards Canal Street. Watch the live streaming coverage of Mardi Gras 2017, bringing you live, as it happens.....
