The MTV Movie Awards started in 1992 as an annual film awards show by MTV. The awards are presented to honor the best films produced throughout the year. The show is covered by the international channels that include MTV, Logo, MTV2 and VH1.

The nominees of the award are determined by producers and executives at MTV. The winners are decided online by the general public. Every member can participate in the voting and vote their favorite’s through MTV's official website through a special Movie Awards.
