Feast of the Black Nazarene is one of the most significant festivals here in the Philippines and is held annually. The feast is marked by one of the biggest processions in the whole country, and is observed in Manila, in a location known as Quiapo, that will take place on 9th of January 2016 as well as on Good Friday. Each year, the procession of the Black Nazarene makes its way along the streets of the Quiapo district, with attendees reaching up to 6 to 10 million of devotees.

The Minor Basilica of the Black Nazarene (Quiapo Church - Basílica Menor del Nazareno Negro) is a prominent Roman Catholic Latin-rite basilica located in the District of Quiapo in the City of Manila, Philippines. The basilica is the famous home of the shrine of the Black Nazarene, a dark statue of Jesus Christ many claim to be miraculous.

Organizers of the annual Catholic Church event are expecting a considerable number of participants from various parts of the country during Thursday’s happening. On the day of the feast, Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle will lead the mass to be followed by the long procession from Luneta to Quiapo.
